Almaden Ave. San Jose 408.292.5265 $8		Panthelion EXPERIMENTAL San Jose trio Panthelion is fronted by Andrew "Endika" Currier on upright bass and features Laxman Drivas on cajons (an Afro-Peruvian drum) and other percussion instruments and Jeff Bordes on trumpets. Panthelion draws on jazz and roots rhythms and adds a little mood and ambience with the help of a rotating cast of backup performers on keyboards, guitar and other instruments, as needed. Opening act David Knight recently released part one of Mandala, a three-part serial EP that highlights his growing facility at combining the electronic with the organic, using both a laptop and a djembe to amplify the soundscapes in his head. Ambience also performs.

Mission Ale House: Downtown San Jose
